Tony Scott, Renowned Hollywood Director, Jumps To His Death From Bridge

The 68-year old British filmmaker, Tony Scott, who made blockbusters such as Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop II and Enemy of the State, was found dead, after jumping off the Vincent Thomas bridge at the Los Angeles Harbor.

Simon Hall, his spokesman, made the announcement of Scott’s death in a statement, in saying, “”I can confirm that Tony Scott has passed away. The family asks that their privacy is respected at this time.”

According to an officer, Lt. Joe Bale, from the coroner’s office, Scott was seen parking his car and jumping off the bridge without hesitation at 12:30 AM on August 19, 2012. His body was recovered about three hours later, and while they found a note in his car as well as in his office, little is known as to what it contained.

However, officials believe it is a suicide based on the facts that they have uncovered so far although a postmortem has not yet been performed on the remains found.

Celebrities in Hollywood, on hearing the news, mourned the death of Tony Scott on Twitter while also appreciating the director’s work since he made a splash in Hollywood with a slew of action films in the 80s.

The last film that he produced was ‘Prometheus’ which was directed by his brother and was said to be working on a film with both Tom Cruise (rumored to be a sequel to Top Gun) as well as a drama about an ex-convict with Batman star, Christian Bale.
