3 Ways ‘Arrow’ Can Embrace the Green Arrow Comic Book Character Fully

Almost every comic book fan has embraced the Arrow and its reinvention of Oliver Queen as the Green Arrow.

Apart from changing the name of the show, there are a number of other things that it must embrace from the Green Arrow comics so as to be recognized as no different from the comics themselves. Simply put, the Arrow must act like the stories and characters in the comics at literally every level.

Here are 3 ways by which the show Arrow can truly become a living, breathing Green Arrow comic book:

1: Grow the Goatee

The goatee has been just as visible as the color green when it comes to the Green Arrow character. However, until now, Oliver has remained clean shaven. Only now, it’s time to give the razor a rest and embrace the character’s physical appearance fully. Of course, while waxed moustaches might not do well with the female fans, it’s still important for the show to honor their core fanbase.

As The Flash proved, colorful villains took the show to the next level altogether. While Team Arrow has been able to deal with Ra’s Al Ghul and Deathstroke, they really haven’t gotten into a real superhero fight. There’s no doubt that if the show wants to make its presence felt, a true rogues gallery needs to be introduced to bring out Green Arrow’s flashier side.

3: Lots of Trick Arrows

While the boxing glove arrow from Season 3 was only a tease, there’s no doubt that lot of trick arrows, toys and gadgets are necessary in order to embrace the comic books completely. Speaking of which, the taser, bola and boomerang arrows should be included even though the boxing glove arrow is already a given.
