WWE Studios signs six-movie deal with Lionsgate, Big Show to star in the first film

With a production deal with Lionsgate now in the bag, it’s clear that the film division of World Wrestling Entertainment, termed as WWE Studios, is here to stay.

According to the industry Deadline, WWE Studios have signed a six-picture deal with Lionsgate with Vendetta – a revenge thriller – being the first film of the deal and which will be shot by Jen and Sylvia Soska.

This isn’t the first time that these directors have been behind the cameras. Apart from directing See No Evil 2, they have also been credited with being directors of the cult classic American Mary.

The cool thing about these directors is that they are identical twins and have been dubbed the ‘new faces of horror’ by The Guardian. Apart from this, the newspaper also goes on to appreciate the new talent that have been associated with this talented duo.

Deadline also offered some news regarding the plot of Vendetta, which will star Paul Wight, also known as the “Big Show”, as a detective who deliberately commits a crime so as to be sent to prison to get revenge against a criminal who is serving a life sentence as he murdered the detective’s wife.

Without a doubt, this deal will give WWE Superstar wrestlers opportunities to pursue a career in the movies while also giving new talent behind the camera to showcase their directing skills.

Work on the movie Vendetta is scheduled to begin in summer while the next production is set to kick off in the fall. It goes without saying that the Big Show will get some time off to play the lead role in the movie.
