Walking Dead could last 10 more seasons, says Scott Gimple in Larry King interview

With the zombie-drama “The Walking Dead” being a major hit for AMC for the last four seasons (and with a fifth on the way), it’s fair to say that its popularity will come to an end soon, right?

In an interview with Larry King, Scott Gimple, who runs the show, thinks otherwise, in saying, “As a comic book, I don’t know if it will end. As a TV show — all TV shows end. But I will say, I think it’s possible that it could go on and on and on. I think if it went 10 years, if it was longer than that, it’s possible that the cast — considering the amount of deaths on this cast, and everything else — after 10, 11, 12 years it could shift into a whole new cast.”

It comes across as a daring claim but it would be wise for AMC to keep the show running considering ‘Mad Men’ is due to go off the air next season apart from losing “Breaking Bad” in 2013.

Apart from this, Gimple also revealed a few plot details about the upcoming season which involves the fate of Beth as well as the ending of season four too.

Speaking of Daryl, one of the show’s most popular characters, will find romance but the focus will favor more action this time around.

Also, Morgan will be back since Rick, Michonne and Carl found him last heavily armed and alone.

That said, Season 5 of The Walking Dead should hit television sets on October 12, 2014.
