Is Streaming Radio The Future Of Radio As We Know It?

Radio has always been a part of our lives through boom boxes, transistors, cell phones and so on and so forth but there has been a new medium through this medium has expanded to: internet streaming radio.

If as an artist, your fan base was limited to the area in which you live in, all that will soon change, thanks to the global reach of the internet. While there are some radio stations that play music of a bygone era (such as 70s music), there are others that prefer to focus on music that is currently being produced whether it is Lady Gaga’s histrionics or even John Mayer’s latest offering, both of whom have a large fan following throughout the world.

If that’s not enough, iTunes and other music stores such as Amazon and so on and so forth sell their music for a small price (thanks to a large number of people who have issues with the way they have to buy entire CDs for a single song).

So you can imagine how much airplay their songs must be getting as a result. It’s a whole new world out there, and technology is at the helm of it. Consumers are getting smarter and smarter these days, and every dollar counts.

But what should this tell you as a listener?

Internet radio will put on offer a slew of genres that have made waves in their heyday (like the popular 80s music that some of us have come to love) and even music that is relevant to the folks today.

Bottom line: it has everything that you can want in the world of music and much more… yes, it is the future of radio as we it!
