Milan Pique Mebarak. That’s the name of Shakira’s baby boy who was delivered only a few days ago.
It seems as if the couple was well-prepared for the arrival of their son as his proud father posted a picture of his son, Milan, on his WhoSay page sporting a new pair of white sneakers made by Nike and bearing his name.
In fact, Pique went on to post the words ‘Milan’s feet’ in colored letters for those who were not aware of this new development of Shakira becoming a mother.
As for Shakira’s announcement, she informed her fan, friends and well-wishers of her son’s birth on Twitter and her website, which read, “The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.”
Just like his father, Milan becomes a member of FC Barcelona, and a ‘cule’ at the time of his birth. What was also confirmed earlier was that both the mother and child were in excellent health and Milan weighed exactly 6 pounds and 6 ounces, to be exact.
It was revealed that Shakira was overcome with emotion at the birth of her child, and wasn’t afraid to show off her “baby bump” at a concert either.
With Pique enjoying star status as a defender for FC Barcelona, questions have been asked as to whether he will follow his father’s footsteps as he began his football career as a student at La Masia – FC Barcelona’s training academy. Yet it should be apparent that it’s too early to speculate…
