For a number of reasons, experts consider Hannibal for television as the perfect adaptation of Thomas Harris’ novels in recent times.
Yet sadly despite it being one of the best shows that television has to offer, there are very few viewers, and which will be one of the reason why the show doesn’t make it past the second season.
So, here are 4 reasons why you should watch Hannibal:
#1: Looks great
Even the most violent scenes are shot so beautifully while the editing is simply quality stuff. The visual feast is often part of the narrative. For example, Will Graham’s gradual shift into the mind of a killer depicted by a pendulum.
#2: Hugh Dancy
Playing the ‘heroic lead’ of Will Graham opposite Mads Mikkelsen (who plays Hannibal!) is hardly an easy task. But without a doubt, it is Hugh Dancy’s performance that makes Hannibal as a whole very memorable.
As for Mikkelsen, his performance with a cold and sophisticated exterior but yet being an animal on the inside makes the show all that more enjoyable.
#3: The cooking scenes
There are very few shows where cooking scenes will make you hungry and repelled to food at the same time. If one could look at the gourmet meals that Lecter prepares for his guests, your mouth will water even if the chef would have clearly prepared the dish in an unsavory fashion.
#4: Amazing guest stars
Some of these guest stars have included Lance Henriksen, Eddie Izzard and even Gillian Anderson while in season 2, Michael Pitt will make an appearance too.
